My name is Vivienne. I was born and raised in Peking (Beijing), China.
In the late 1980th I went to southwest Germany and studied German at Carl Duisberg College in Radolfzell on Lake Constance. A year later I moved to Stuttgart for a further study in the field of business administration (Dipl. BWL).
After graduating from the University of Stuttgart, I started to work for various international corporations, e.g. Thyssen Aufzüge GmbH, ITT Cannon GmbH and Micronas GmbH, as Marketing / Key Account Manager and was responsible for the Asia Pacific region such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore etc.
From 2002 to 2006, I lived and worked in the United States. I returned to Europe in 2006, and soon after, I was hired as a Commercial Manager in Zurich, Switzerland by an Anglo-American company called DEK International GmbH.
In 2008 I met my future Swiss husband. It was love at first sight! We got married in June 2010 and I have lived in Switzerland since then.
Learning languages are my great passion. When I was around 12 years old, I learned Russian as my first foreign language, then German, English, Japanese and Cantonese. During my language studies in Germany, I was also very much interested in other European languages, and that's how I learned French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. Furthermore I am also interested in Portuguese, Greek, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish etc.
All challenges become adventures when you become fascinated!
Besides learning languages in my spare time, I like reading history, especially. the history of European nobility and the history of ethnic minorities. Chinese history, poetry and literature are also my favorites.
Both my husband and I love skiing, hiking, biking, swimming, gardening. When it comes to food, We both enjoy Mediterranean specialties, as well as Sushi and Southeast Asian food.
In the last 10 years we have toured Europe a lot with Harley-Davidson and it's been a great experience and adventure for me. We will continue to do so.
My adorable Ollie!
Since writing about my grandma in early 2016, I've already written many memoirs over the years and started expanding my blog topics in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch and Japanese languages, linking and posting my favorite historical topics, especially celebrities related to Switzerland.
